At the suggestion of Colorado County Attorney Ken Sparks, the Columbus Crime Stoppers organization was re-organized in 2001 into a county-wide organization with a new name. The Board of Directors is now composed of citizens from all areas of the county. The organization is funded by private donations and court-ordered payments of $25.00 from each person who receives a probated sentence.

Crime Stoppers uses the money it receives to pay confidential rewards up to $1000.00 for information leading to the arrest and the filing of charges in felony cases. You can remain anonymous and still qualify for a reward. You do not have to give your name. By law, the information and your identity are privileged and cannot be revealed.
